Assoc Prof. Evangeline E. Timbang, PhD, an AHLEI Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE) and Guest Service Provider (CGSP) spent her forty-two and a half years at the University of Santo Tomas, Manila(UST) as an Associate Professor in tourism and hospitality programs. She was the former Chairperson of the Hotel and Restaurant Management Department and at present the Asst. Dean of the College of Tourism and Hospitality Management of the royal and pontifical university in the country.
She had assumed key positions in various national and international professional organizations such as past President of the Asia Pacific Council of Hotel, Restaurant and Institution in Education (APacCHRIE)and the Council of Hotel and Restaurant Educators of the Philippines (COHREP). She is a Member of the World Association for Hospitality and Tourism Education and Training (AMFORHT) and the Association of North America Higher Education International (ANAHEI). She was an Exchange Program Professor for three years at Gyeongju University , Gyeongju, South Korea.
Assoc. Prof Timbang has served the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) as Member of the Regional Quality Assessment Team for the National Capital Region (RQUAT) , Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) as Member of the Technical Advisory Panel and as an Accreditor of the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation(PACUCOA). She was member of the multi sector committee which introduced the Student Internship Abroad Program(SIAP) in the country.
In research, her field of interest are culinary, food service, entrepreneurship and internship. She has presented research papers in both local and international research fora including a research poem and haspublished research papers in refereed global journals. She has served as Member of the Scientific Review Committee in Malaysia and USA research conferences.
She engaged in various trainings which include the Department of Tourism Mabuhay Host Training program as a Master Trainer helping develop the country’s tourism and hospitality front liners on effective customer service.
